Major Endorsement for Campaign 2016

No, it's not the New York Times coming out for a third, unconstitutional term for Barack Obama.  This time it's WND, the former WorldNetDaily, promoting Rand Paul.

Last month WND named the Kentucky Senator's father, Ron Paul, man of the decade, but failed to endorse him in last year's presidential election. Owner Joseph Farah admired the congressman, but went with a more "practical" endorsement of Mitt Romney.  His son, Rand Paul, did likewise in the closing days of the election.

This illustrates a difference between the mostly similar, Libertarian-oriented father and son.  Farah uses the word "nuanced" to describe Rand Paul's approach to foreign aid, but the word may also be appropriate for how the senator approaches other issues.  This may be why WND observes, "Paul has shown an ability to beat the Republican establishment by bringing together a coalition of libertarians, evangelicals and tea-party activists on common principles.

One of the biggest tests of Rand Paul's effectiveness begins in a few days when he introduces a bill to nullify "anything the president does that smacks of legislation."  This challenge was prompted when Obama signed 23 executive orders on gun control recently.

Sometimes we can summarize a man's beliefs by a single quote.  Rand Paul made such a statement the other day — "I'm against having a 'king'.  Having a monarch is what we fought the American Revolution over.  And someone who wants to bypass the Constitution, bypass Congress ... that's someone who wants to act like a king."

We wish you success, Seantor Paul, and hope you'll be remembered in history as the Great Nullifier.
