It's a case of "Do what I say, not do what I do."

Only the most politically naive are unaware that gun sales soared when Barack Obama was given a second term, because interested citizens wanted to buy guns while they still could.

Now word is out, thanks to "Yahoo News" and other outlets that the Current occupant of the White House, has signed HR 6620, better known as the Former Presidents Protection Act.  It extends the term of Secret Service protection to life for any former President.  In a similar way, the ex-officeholder's children will be protected to age 16.

Remember when lifetime protection was rolled back to 10 years in the mid-90s as a cost-cutting measure?  Lawmakers were inspired by the example of Richard Nixon, who turned down Secret Service protection in 1985 and hired a private security firm.  Who knows how much life-long protection for Obama will cost?  It will undoubtedly total much more than his frequent multi-million dollar vacations.

And just so you don't think liberal Democrats are the only ones who come up with these hare-brained schemes, we have to tell you HR6620 was written by Republican Congressman Trey Gowdy, of South Carolina.

But let's get back to Obama's daughters.  They go to a private school with at least 11 armed guards on duty at all times.  But Obama, and other gun restriction advocates, promote schools as gun free zones, where teachers and principals would have to stand by helplessly during a massacre such as happened recently at Sandy Hook.

You're a hypocrite, Mr Obama.  You and your family are not the only ones needing protection in our violent society.  We don't want to see you killed, but the rest of us at least need the right to protect ourselves.
