It is one of the most recognized, revered and moving parables in scriptures—perhaps because it is one of the most grounded stories of humility, repentance and reconciliation to which virtually anyone can make an emotional connection.

It is the parable of the Prodigal Son.

Now, in an endeavor to reconnect people to the story like never before, PRODIGALFILM, in conjunction with Uptone Pictures, is setting the parable within a modern-day context, as they prepare to launch the production and release of the new film A Long Way Off, featuring Robert Davi (Diehard with Bruce Willis, Goonies, James Bond License to Kill), Frank Chiesurin (Resident Evil Apocalypse), Keith David (Platoon, Crash, Mr. & Mrs. Smith), as well as actors from The Hunger Games and Courageous, and some surprise actors who play themselves in the film, including talk show host Sean Hannity.

In this 2,000-year-old remake, so to speak, college grad, Jacob, is ready to shake off his father’s religious business ethics and strike out into the world, poised to conquer it his own way. Surprised that his father actually obliges his request for an early inheritance, Jacob, indeed, sets out for his own idea of fortune and proceeds to spend millions of dollars living the high life—only to find it come crashing down.

People of faith and those who are looking for deeper, more fulfilling relationships will enjoy the drama and surprise in this feel-good feature film.
