Customers Overwhelm Chick-fil-A with Support in Response to Trumped-Up Controversy
by Steve Eastman, Faith Issues
Some people are calling today Customer Appreciation Day. Come on, it’s really Chick-fil-A Appreciation day.
Two major city mayors blew a gasket recently when company president Dan Cathy told Baptist Press he favors the Biblical definition of marriage. Then Cathy said on the radio that when man tries to redefine marriage, he’s inviting God’s judgment.
I stopped by a Chick-fil-A in my area today for lunch, and let me tell you it was the kind of crowd you’d expect if all the other restaurants in town decided to close.
The quick, rhythmic movements employees made to prepare and serve food would have put any aerobics instructor to shame.
And staff still circulated among customers, making sure everyone who wanted a free re-fill, go one. Employees looked just as happy to be there as ever.
You learn a lot of interesting things just listening to customers. One man told his friend that he had driven miles out of his way just to be at Chick-fil-A. I overheard a couple of people say they had to park across the street and still another that his daughter could not find a parking space at a nearby Chick-fil-A.
And now, more on the controversy. Remember what I told you a few days ago in the video? You can watch the video right here on Faith Issues. Just click here.
Maybe someone should tell the mayors of Boston and Chicago, who’ve made it clear they would try to keep Chick-fil-A out of town, how much sales tax they missed out on today.
