Thought Police Out to Get Chick-fil-A

Have you heard that the mayors of Chicago and Boston are teaming up with the Muppets to punish Chick-fil-A for believing in traditional marriage?

It all started when Dan Cathy, son of Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy, told Baptist Press, ”We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit.”  Then he gave a separate radio interview saying, “I think we’re inviting God’s judgment when we shake our fist at Him, you know, [saying], ‘We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.’”

Then — boom — Mayor Thomas Menino winds up in the Boston Herald claiming, “Chick-fil-A doesn’t belong in Boston.”  He’s backpedalled a little since, acknowledging he doesn’t really have the power to stop it, but try telling that to Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Alderman Joe Moreno.  The company has received a zoning permit for a restaurant in Chicago’s west side, but still needs the approval of City Council.

According to Mayor Emanuel, “Chick-fil-A’s values are not Chicago values. They’re not respectful of our residents, our neighbors and our family members. And if you’re gonna be part of the Chicago community, you should reflect Chicago values.” Hm, I wonder if the mayor ever heard of Moody Bible Institute?

So what does this have to do with the Muppets?  Up till recently, Chick-fil-A promotions have featured Muppet-oriented toys.  It’s all different now.

Well, Chick-fil-A is getting a heavy hitter on its side.  Reverend Billy Graham is expressing strong support for the Cathy family.  Graham plans to visit a Chick-fil-A this coming Wednesday.

It's time for grass roots America to show its support for Chick-Fil-A.  Send a link to this video to your friends and have them send it to their friends.  Together, we can go viral and help Chick-fil-A break a sales record.  Let's send a message to the cities of Boston and Chicago, to the Muppets and to anyone else who would suppress Chick-fil-A's right to take a stand for traditional marriage.
